ZoomMate (Zoom AI)
ZoomMate is Zoom’s AI teammate, the successor to Zoom IQ and AI Companion, which takes meeting notes, searches work context, runs agents and builds documents.
About this tool
ZoomMate is the AI assistant inside Zoom Workplace, and the latest name for Zoom’s meeting AI after Zoom IQ and AI Companion. It captures meeting content with My Notes, prepares agendas from past interactions, and after a call can send follow-ups, update Salesforce or draft a deck. Each morning it can summarise project activity and suggest a to-do list in Zoom Chat.
Beyond meetings, ZoomMate searches transcripts, chats, documents and connected apps such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Jira, Salesforce and ServiceNow, giving answers that cite sources and respect permissions. Users can build custom agents, @mention them in chats, and automate recurring workflows. Zoom Slides, Sheets, Paper and Canvas turn conversations into presentations, spreadsheets and documents.

Who is it for?
- A project lead turns a kickoff meeting into a status deck and a tracking agent.
- An IT team asks which incidents need attention, drawing on ServiceNow and chat history.
- A salesperson lets ZoomMate update Salesforce and send follow-ups after a call.
Before you choose
Advanced capabilities consume Zoom AI credits; review how credits are allocated across your team before rolling out automations.
Connecting third-party apps gives the assistant access to sensitive data, so set permissions carefully.
