Duck.ai is DuckDuckGo’s AI chat service. It lets people talk to third-party models, such as small and mid-size models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Mistral and open models hosted by a partner, while DuckDuckGo anonymises the requests so the model providers do not see who is asking. The free version includes several models, and subscribers get more advanced ones.
Conversations can start from Duck.ai directly or as follow-ups to DuckDuckGo search results. Recent chats are kept locally on your device rather than on DuckDuckGo’s servers, and can be deleted with the Fire Button, with up to five pinned. DuckDuckGo says its AI features are optional, do not track usage, do not store prompts and do not train on your data. Photos and PDFs can be dropped into a chat.
